Dear international students,

Application for NBU 2024 International Student Scholarships (excluding Fall 2024 freshmen) has begun. Please pay attentionto the following instructions:

1、Eligibility

1) Second-year and above international students who are not CSC Scholarship or CIS Scholarship winners.

2) International students not in China during the 2024 fall semester are not allowed to apply.

Note: Senior international students applying for scholarships must complete their registration by September 20, 2024, and remain staying in China.

2、Award Standards

1) Zhejiang Provincial Government Scholarship

Postgraduates: CNY30,000.00/person (1 person)

Undergraduates: CNY20,000.00/person (0 person)

2) Ningbo Municipal Government Scholarship

Postgraduates: CNY 30,000.00/person (1 person)

Undergraduates: CNY 20,000.00/person (0 person)

Long-term students (non-degree): CNY 6,000/person (one-year visiting students) (0 person)

3) Distinguished International Students (DIS) Scholarship of Ningbo University

First-Class Scholarship：CNY10,000/person (1 person)

Second-Class Scholarship：CNY5,000/person (1 person)

Third-Class Scholarship：CNY3,000/person (0 person)

3、Requirements

1) Hold foreign nationality and have a valid foreign passport and valid Chinese residence permit.

2) Be in good health, have good moral character, be well-rounded, be friendly towards China, and be able to adapt well to the study and life at Ningbo University.

3) For long-term students applying for a scholarship, the study period must be one semester or longer.

4) Have not received other scholarships from China, such as CSC, CIS and so on.

5) Applicants must comply with the laws and regulations of China and all rules and regulations of Ningbo University, register on time, pay the required fees for the 2024–2025 academic year (including tuition, accommodation, insurance), and have no record of visa expiration.

6) Applicants must be self-funded international students who are studying normally within the prescribed duration of their major, and applications are generally not open to self-funded international students who have suspended or extended their studies.

7) Applicants (senior students) must have no less than 60 (out of 100) scores in all subjects for this academic year; the attendance rate should be no less than 85%; actively participate in various lectures, competitions, public welfare, and social practice activities organized by the university; and participate in at least one public welfare or social practice activity each academic year.

NOTE: International students will not be eligible for evaluation if they have any of the following situations:

1) Violate Chinese laws and regulations;

2) Violate university discipline and regulations and receive a warning or higher penalty;

3) Violate college regulations and receive a written warning from the college;

4) Violate social ethics and have a negative impact.

4、Application documents

1)Application Form of Zhejiang Provincial Government Scholarship, Application Form of Ningbo Municipal Government Scholarship, or Application Form of Distinguished International Students (DIS) Scholarship

2) Receipts for payment of tuition, accommodation and insurance for the 2024-2025 academic year

3) Transcript

4) Copy of passport

5) Health report (issued by Ningbo International Travel Health Care Center after April 1st, 2024. This material can be provided by students when they are about to be confirmed for the scholarship recommendation qualification.)

6) Recommendation letter in Chinese, including the student's academic performance, research achievements, awards and honors, participation in cultural and sports activities, social practice activities, and overall performance in China (This document can be issued by the student's faculty after the students who are confirmed for the scholarship recommendation qualification submit their materials）

7) Certificate of enrollment in Chinese (obatined by self-printing machines in Faculty & Students Service Center of Ningbo University)

8) ICBC bank account (If there is no valid Ningbo ICBC account, other Chinese bank accounts must be provided)

9) Certificates, HSK and HSKK transcripts and other supporting materials.

Notes:

1) Application materials should be in duplicate. But for Ningbo Municipal Government Scholarship, application materials should be in triplicate.

2) Applicants are required to submit both online and hard-copy application documents.

3) Application documents will NOT be returned.

4) The dates of submitted materials must be from September 1, 2023, to August 31, 2024.

5、How to apply

Step 1: Fill in the application form for  the scholarship. (See the attachment)

Note: You can only apply for one kind of scholarship among Zhejiang Provincial Scholarship / Ningbo Municipal Government Scholarship / Distinguished International Students (DIS) Scholarship of Ningbo University.

Step 2: Apply online at //is.mgtj.net/isms/space (Please refer to the attachment for the specific operation process.)

Step 3: Submit all your application documents to law school 221 for approval and evaluation.

Ningbo University will announce the list and grade of the winners and arrange to award scholarships.
